"This year marks New Hampshire Public Television's 41st Spring Auction. It's one of our largest fundraisers and most visible community event. Our loyal Auction fans throughout New Hampshire and Northern New England tune in for ten consecutive nights of Auction fun, and excitement builds as the bids come in from all over New England and beyond. .and the items up for bid are incredible! We've got everything - from a gift certificate to your favorite local pizza place, to a brand spankin' new car! In fact, nearly 5,500 items are generously donated to NHPTV from over 2,000 businesses and individuals. The money we raise during our Auction -- it goes straight to programs you love to watch right here on New Hampshire Public Television. Local programs like Windows to the Wild and Granite State Challenge as well as the national PBS shows you just can't miss. Downton Abbey, Nature, Nova, Antiques Roadshow to name a few. "So, now you know that it takes an army of volunteers to keep the NHPTV Spring Auction going strong, and as the saying goes; "An army marches on its stomach." Keeping our loyal volunteers going strong are a number of local restaurants and other businesses that "Chip-In" everything from coffee and donuts to prime rib. "Chip-in" donations aren't just limited to food, though. They provide kitchen supplies, office supplies, gardening, cleaning, massage, photography services and more. These special "Chip-In" donations are just another way we celebrate the generosity of our volunteers. They put in an amazing amount of time and effort into the NHPTV Auction and we can't thank them enough. So why not Chip in. and help us say thank you to our volunteers AND have YOUR business showcased on our 10-night, LIVE televised and streamed Auction! |

With most items, you have the option of either having them professionally packed and shipped to you by our good friends at The Parcel Room, or you can Pick up and Pay! Come and see us right here at the NHTPV Studios! We are in Durham at the Broadcast Center at 268 Mast Road. For detailed directions just go to our website at nhptv.org and click "About" and then click "Directions to Broadcast Center". Or just ask our confirmation volunteers. "Pick Up and Pay" hours are noon to 7pm every day through Saturday May 10th!" In the end. Auction is also about A LOT of fun! You never know what you're going to see during a LIVE Auction -- flamingo hat wearing volunteers, llamas, some chickens and even a goat find their way into the studio! For the past forty years, the Auction open theme has seen a lot of change. From a regular Auctioneer theme to Avalanches to aerial acrobats. We had a blast looking through some old footage and we hope you do too. |
